John Byczek, serves as the Managing Director at Northwestern Mutual – North Tampa District Office. He contracted with Northwestern Mutual in 1998 and has been in a Managing Director role since 2004.
He has over 20 years’ experience specializing in developing financial strategies for businesses and individuals, executive compensation and benefits packages, and estate planning. While leading and overseeing the daily operations of 15 Financial Advisors.
John is actively involved in various civic and charitable organizations that support city, state and national organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Gold Shield Foundation, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission and is a member of The Friday Roundtable, The Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council, Tampa Bay Professional Alliance [Businesswise], and CEO Council of Tampa Bay.
He served 27 years in the US Army both active duty and reserve. He supported Operation ENDURING FREEDOM immediately after 9/11 and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service in Afghanistan. He was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority in April 2005 and served January 2012. He also served 3 years as Chairman of the HART Audit and Finance Committees.
John originally hails from Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in Tampa since 1998. He and his wife Jene are enjoying 29 years of marriage. They have a son and daughter [twins] that are 36 years old, and two grandchildren. He enjoys sports and attending most any major sporting event! He and Jene are active members of Idelwild Baptist Church and enjoy participating in local and international mission projects with the church.
